scanning

The Imacon 949... while it might be considered a dinosaur by todays standards, I mean who shoots film anymore, it is capable of extracting the actual film grain from your shots. This scanner is built like a tank, incorporating a Peltier cooled CCD to reduce noise, and a light diffuser to reduce visible scratches. It scans at an ultra high resolution of 8000dpi optical, not interpolated like most scanners advertise. It will depend on the film size, but you will receive a high res ultra sharp 16 bit tiff file embedded with a Adobe 1999 profile.

Who would use this? Well if you use a film camera, shooting panoramics, like an x-span, or a Hasselblad large format film back, or even your average 35mm. You still need to get the film into a digital format, and this is the best platform to do so. We supply a raw scan for 50 bucks, or we can clean and colour balance for 300 rands. Its lots of work but the result will be a pristine high-res digital file which you could easily print to A0 size.
